About David Mize

I am a native of Richmond and the West End, and I have lived here most of my life. I have traveled to other cities and countries enough to realize that Richmond is a fantastic place to live. My wife, Kelly, and I reside in Western Henrico County in the River Road Corridor, where we raise our three boys. We try to promote a very active lifestyle filling our time together with outdoor activities year round. Richmond is in close proximity to fantastic summer destinations like the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach.

Our family enjoys spending time on the water, swimming, fishing, wake-boarding and boating.Golf is one of my passions, but having a family of three young sons has greatly increased my handicap. In the fall and winter we spend time in the woods and the snow at Wintergreen.

We enjoy hiking, exploring, skiing and snowboarding in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The boys are enjoying football and lacrosse programs at their schools. Richmond is a great community for getting involved with a charitable cause. I am sure other cities encourage civic involvement, but Richmond seems to have an incredibly active network of foundations and events for charitable causes. We enjoy getting involved and showing our sons the importance of community giving. If you want to meet some great people in Richmond, some of the best ways to start are, work out at a fitness club, go to a Ducks Unlimited event, go to church, attend one of the many charitable evening events, pick a golf tournament, go to a polo match or horse race. As a Richmonder, a great afternoon begins by being outdoors, talking and eating while helping a good cause.

At Hampden-Sydney College I learned to appreciate Virginia history and studied the Civil War in detail. Today, I find that I enjoy relaxing with a book on The Civil War or Virginia History. Our hometown is incredibly rich with the American Experience. People fascinate me. In my profession, I get to meet people from all over the world who have come to Richmond with their families to work, play and establish a comfortable life. I get to see people at their best and also at their most stressed times. I have always attempted to put myself in the shoes of my client. I know that each client has a unique situation, and each piece of Real Estate is ultimately unique. The one thing that we all have in common is the desire for a safe and worry free existence. I will do my best to help you make the right decisions.
