What type of information can I enter in the Quick Search text box?

You can enter a listing number, subdivision name, or any part of an address in the Quick Search text box.

For example:

On the old site I could run a county search. How can I run the same search on the new site?

To run a county search:

  1. At the top of any page, click Search for Homes.
  2. Select the State and County.
  3. Select the preferred cities in the county or click Select All to select all cities in the county.
  4. Click Show Properties.
To narrow your search even further, select from the More Search Options on the left side.

How can I search multiple zip codes?

To search multiple zip codes:

  1. In the Quick Search text box, enter zip codes separated by commas.
  2. Click Quick Search Now.
OR
  1. At the top of any page, click Search for Homes.
  2. Click Zip Code.
  3. Enter codes separated by a comma (,) in the text box.
  4. Click Show Properties.

How can I search for properties on or near the water?

To search for properties on or near the water:

  1. At the top of any page, click Search for Homes.
  2. Under More Search Options on the left, scroll to the Views section.
  3. Select the desired water location.
  4. Click Show Properties.

I just listed my house. How can I search for it using the listing number?

To search using the listing number:

  1. In the Quick Search text box, enter the MLS number.
  2. Click Quick Search Now.
OR
  1. At the top of any page, click Search for Homes.
  2. Click Listing #.
  3. Enter the MLS number.
  4. Click Show Properties.

What is the planner? How can it help me?

The planner allows you to manage your online experience with Long & Foster. When you register with the site, a custom planner is generated for you and, on subsequent visits to the site, your planner is automatically displayed.

In addition to managing your saved properties and searches, you can use the planner to schedule showings, create house hunting trips, save contacts and much more. As a result, all of your real estate transaction information is conveniently and securely stored online.

Do I have to register to save information from your site?

Yes. In order to save properties or searches, you must register with the site. Once you register, you can access all of our useful online features and manage your entire real estate transaction securely online.

Visit the Living section of our site to read information on the states, regions, and cities we represent. Once you have an idea of where you want to live, you can search for homes in that area.

How does Map Search work?

To use Map Search:

  1. At the top of any page, click Search for Homes.
  2. Click Search by Map.
  3. On the map, click the desired state and county.
  4. Click a house on the map to view the number of properties available in the surrounding area.
  5. Click the View Properties link on the note that appears
  6. Click an individual house to view basic property details.
  7. Click the address for additional property details.

What are the different views available on your property maps?

Road is the default view which shows where the property is located on an area map.

Click Aerial for a satellite view of the property and surrounding area. You may have to zoom out of the map to see some aerial views properly.

Click Bird’s Eye, if the option is available, for photos of the property and surrounding area taken from a low flying aircraft. This view is special to Long & Foster and provides amazing, accurate details of the neighborhood.

I found a house I like. How can I search for neighborhood amenities?

To search for neighborhood amenities:

  1. On any property details page, click What's Nearby. A map of the area opens.
  2. Under the map, select an amenity and click Show. A list of corresponding amenities with contact information appears.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to view the amenities on a map.

I want to rent a vacation property for a week. How can Long & Foster help?

Click Renting under the Long & Foster logo on any page. Then click Vacation Properties on the left side. Scroll to the bottom of the page to read detailed descriptions about the vacation areas we represent.

To view and book available rental properties in an area, click the link at the end of the description.
