LONG & FOSTER ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGE FOR TOP OFFICE
Leon Nasar to Manage the Bethesda-Gateway Office

Chantilly, VA — Long & Foster® Real Estate, Inc., the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States, has named Leon Nasar branch manager of the company’s top-producing Bethesda Gateway office in Bethesda, Md. Nasar, former manager of Long & Foster’s W.C. & A.N. Miller Spring Valley office in Washington, D.C., will be supported by Greg Scott, former manager of Long & Foster’s Capitol Hill office, and Susann Haskins, former manager of the company’s Kentlands Blvd. office in Gaithersburg, Md.

“At Long & Foster, we are committed to creating an environment aligned with the needs of today’s buyers and sellers, and that starts with best-in-class leadership,” said Gary A. Scott, president of the Long & Foster Real Estate. "We are pleased to announce these exciting changes in the Bethesda Gateway office, which is one of our largest and most productive.”

“We are very confident that under the leadership of Leon, this new leadership team will continue to build on the existing success of the office, which is already home to more than 200 sales associates,” added Scott. “This team is committed to seeing Long & Foster’s sales associates thrive in their businesses and will support our industry-leading real estate professionals as they assist buyers and sellers in reaching their homeownership goals.”

The Bethesda Gateway office—located at 4650 East West Highway in Bethesda, Md.— is among Long & Foster’s premier offices, exceeding $1 billion in annual sales volume. In 2010, the office successfully closed nearly 1,900 sales transactions at an average price of $545,866. It is also home to The Banner Team, which ranked 90th out of 250 real estate teams nationwide, and The Rozansky Realty Group, which ranked 163rd out of 250, based on closed sales volume in 2010, as ranked by The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends, Inc.

Nasar, who joined Long & Foster’s Bethesda Gateway office as a sales associate in 2005, was named manager of the W.C. & A.N. Miller Spring Valley office in 2010. Within 15 months of taking that position, he successfully led the office to double its residential sales production and facilitated a significant jump in commercial production.

“I’m looking forward to this opportunity to support the best-trained, best-equipped real estate professionals in the greater Bethesda region,” Nasar said. “Long & Foster’s long history as an agent-centric company guides us as leaders and I’m excited to bring this energy and focus to the Bethesda Gateway office.”

As a member of the Bethesda Gateway leadership team, Haskins, a real estate professional for more than 20 years, will oversee the office’s daily operations and ensure transactions run smoothly. Her experience includes success as a sales associate, an educator and trainer, a branch co-manager, and a managing broker for Long & Foster.

Greg Scott, also a seasoned real estate professional, is an experienced sales associate and has served as manager of one of Long & Foster’s most successful Washington, D.C., offices. His primary focus will be in the areas of technology, training and recruiting.
