I specialize in Store Acquisition, Leasing & Lease Negotiation, Renovations, Commercial Purchasing, Commercial/Mixed Use Investing, Property Management and Residential Sales. I arrived in Fell’s Point in the Fall of 1997. After a retail career in which I mastered store acquisition, lease negotiation, buying, merchandising and day-to-day store management I decided to strike out on my own. I rented 100 square feet on Thames Street and embarked on a 20-year adventure. I started out selling candles and gifts in a store I called Shades of Light. I expanded into the back rooms of the building and eventually purchased the property from my landlord. I started buying tables to display my wares and before you know it people wanted to buy the tables. In 2002, I took my next step and purchased a larger building on Broadway (The Port Mission) where my store became Eclectic Elements in which I sold furniture and home décor. I rented Shades of Light out and became a landlord. After only 3 years I outgrew that space and purchased an even larger location to expand the store to 10,000 Square feet and include a restaurant called Eclectic Creperie. From 2008 to 2021 I owned and operated a women’s clothing company called Party Dress. Simultaneously, I renovated the Port Mission and the new building to include 8 apartments. Here I got a real lesson in renovation, design, costs, time and the permitting process. I actually won an award for Historic Preservation! During that time, I was President of the Fell’s Point Business Association and spearheaded the effort to bring the Main Street Designation and Program to Fell’s Point. Today, Fell’s Point is still a Main Street community. I also raised two children in Fell’s Point during these hectic years. It was a great experience to support two boys at home, many early and late soccer games, and volunteer for a variety of school activities. After 20 years of being a landlord I decided to get my real estate license in 2020. Now I help other people fulfill their dreams of opening a retail store or restaurant, invest in real estate as part of a healthy financial portfolio or own the home of their dreams.
