Carolyn began her career as a case manager for elderly recipients of Old-Age Assistance in Battle Creek, Michigan, following which sheworked for28 years for the DC Government as a program analyst, supervisory public health planner, and human services program manager.
After retiring from the DC Government, Carolynre-located to Virginia. She was licensed as a real estate sales agentin 1999 andjoined Weichert,Realtors in Fredericksburg, VA. Shortly thereafter, Carolynwas licensed as a real estate sales agent in the District of Columbia and Maryland and joinedthe Weichert, Realtors' Adams Morgan office in DC. In 2002, Carolyn re-locatedtoDC. Shethen left Weichert, Realtors forLong and Foster Realtors.
Carolyn is the daughter of the Late Honorable Hilda H. M. Mason, five-term At-large DC Councilmember, called by many"Grandmother of the world." Carolynwas activelyinvolved in each of Councilmember Mason’s political campaigns from 1977-1998 and managed hercare from 2006 until she died in 2007.
