Fort Washington, the historic landmark for which the town is named, remains where it was built more than 200 years ago. Originally built in the 1800s to defend against enemies entering via waterway, the fort is now an historic park run by the National Park Service. The park within its walls offers an abundance of trees and riverside views.

Transportation to Washington D.C.
