Investing in real estate offers several advantages that make it a valuable means for realizing financial wellness. For example, renting out real estate creates a regular source of extra monthly income after deducting operational expenses. In addition, real estate in our area tends to be less vulnerable to the volatility of the financial market. An investor can also borrow against the equity value of the real estate and further utilize that for other investments that consequently can create additional income. Historically, real estate value tends to appreciate over time. Thus, an investor who buys and holds real estate will more likely sell it for more than the original purchase price and realize some capital gains. According to the National Association of Realtors, "investing in real estate can offer several advantages over other types of investments, including potentially higher returns, stability, inflation hedging, and diversification."
