Maija Budow was born in Finland. She was educated in Finland and moved to the United States to attend George Washington University. She earned her B.A. and completed graduate courses in Art History.
Maija and her family traveled extensively as a diplomatic family maintaining households in Russia, Western Europe, North and South America.
She brings international business experience to help her clients. She was an aid to the U.S. Ambassador to the Former Soviet Union, Thomas Watson, retired CEO of IBM.After returning to the U.S. she worked as Consular Officer, Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C.
Maijaspends her time volunteering for the Junior League of Northern Virginia bringing Art to children in the homeless shelters. She has run a lucrative gift shop for the Washington Hospital Center to raise funds for hospital projects.Her endless hard work resulted in 1.5 million in sales.
She is currently a member ofGeorgetown Civic Association, Finlandia Foundation, Vocal Arts Society, Washington National Opera, Metropolatin Opera,Jussi Bjorling Society, GW Alumni Associationand the Junior League.
Maija purchased her first home in the Georgetown area in 1978 and has always returned home to Georgetown.
