Living in Oak Hill
Oak Hill, Virginia, is group of subdivisions consisting of single-family homes and a few townhomes, in the southern part of Herndon, Virginia. It sits along Centreville and West Ox roads, Franklin Farm Road, and Fairfax County Parkway, between Herndon and Chantilly, Virginia. Oak Hill residents have no shortage of things to do, including hiking Horsepen Run Trail, viewing historic aircraft — even a real space shuttle — at the Smithsonian’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center nearby, or taking in an IMAX movie on the museum’s six-story screen. Frying Pan Farm Park, a working farm and agriculture museum, hosts summer camps for kids as well as festivals and fairs showcasing farm life.
Getting Around Oak Hill
Choices for dining or getting carryout aren’t in short supply, either. You can find the flavors of Italy, Korea, Japan, China, India, the Mediterranean, the United States and more, all within Oak Hill’s two small shopping areas, which are each anchored by major supermarket chain stores.
Commuters and travelers will appreciate easy access to the Dulles Toll Road and U.S. 50 via Centreville Road or Fairfax County Parkway. On the western border of Oak Hill sits Washington Dulles International Airport. The nearest Metro access is the Silver Line, which will extend through Herndon, just to the north of Oak Hill, when complete.
