History buffs have a lot to be thankful for in Chadds Ford. The Chadds Ford Historical Society puts on events throughout the year, and historic home museums are open for tours on Saturdays. Chadds Ford Days is an annual event that commemorates the 1777 Battle of Brandywine. The celebration features war reenactments, live music, tours, and Colonial demonstrations.  

For a look at artifacts from the history of Chadds Ford, there are two museums in town that fit the bill; the Christian C. Sanderson Museum may be small, but it contains over 200 years of American history. Information and artifacts from the Battle of Brandywine can be found here, as well as artifacts from the Civil War and both World Wars. The Brandywine River Museum of Art features area artists throughout several eras and even has an artists-in-residence program.

For a small town, Chadds Ford real estate offers a great deal of diversity in housing types. Painters Crossing features one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos for sale. For longer trips, Chadds Ford residents can catch a train or a Greyhound bus in Philadelphia or drive to Philadelphia International Airport, just over 20 miles away via I-95.
