Amelia Whitman
IT'S THE ONE
WELCOME
Amelia Whitman is a REALTOR® with more than 15 years of experience, guiding buyers and sellers through multiple market cycles since 2010. Known for her calm, client-first approach, she serves as a strategic advisor and strong advocate for clients navigating important financial and life transitions.
Building on a real estate business her father, Bill Whitman, began in 1986, Amelia brings seasoned judgment, deep local knowledge, and honest guidance to every transaction. She prioritizes long-term interests over quick outcomes and is trusted for her ability to navigate complexity thoughtfully while keeping the process clear and well managed.
Raised on the shores of the West River just south of Annapolis, Amelia’s connection to the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding communities runs deep. Her family has lived on these same shores for generations and is known for establishing Hartge Yacht Yard in 1865, a family-owned boat yard that continues today. Growing up in a close-knit community shaped by both maritime and agricultural heritage influenced how Amelia views homeownership—not just as a place to live, but as part of a larger community.
Homeschooled through high school, Amelia developed independence and self-direction early on before attending Anne Arundel Community College and Johns Hopkins University. She graduated from Johns Hopkins with a double major in International Relations and Creative Writing and rowed on the Women’s Crew Team, an experience that reinforced discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that continue to inform her professional approach.
An avid traveler, Amelia has explored South America, Africa, and Europe. These experiences deepened her appreciation for the concept of “home” and the importance of place—perspective she now helps clients apply when making one of the most significant decisions of their lives.
Today, Amelia lives in Edgewater, Maryland with her husband Jeff and their rescue dog, Kobe. She crews in the Wednesday Night Sailboat Races aboard her mother’s Alerion 28 and cruises the Chesapeake Bay on a Tartan 40 sailboat she and Jeff restored together, further grounding her understanding of the waterfront lifestyle she represents.
Professionally, Amelia is deeply engaged in both real estate and community leadership. She serves as Chair of the Forms Committee for the Anne Arundel County Association of REALTORS® (AACAR), is a board member of Arundel Rivers Federation, and serves as Vice Commodore of the Chesapeake Bay Tartan Sailing Club.
With seasoned judgment paired with a modern, tech-forward approach, Amelia leverages digital marketing, video, and fast, responsive communication to serve today’s buyers and sellers thoughtfully and effectively.
