Things to Do in Atlantic City

Atlantic City has a vibrant culture that includes plenty of museums, restaurants, and shopping opportunities. The Absecon Lighthouse in the heart of the city is one of the country's oldest lighthouses. It features a museum, expansive grounds, and a wonderful view of downtown.

Most of Atlantic City's restaurants are still located in the tourist area near the boardwalk. Atlantic Avenue offers everything from fast food to fine dining. Other streets with plentiful eating and drinking options include Pacific Avenue, Arctic Avenue, and North Albany Avenue. The boardwalk offers a wide range of dining options that include seafood, steakhouses, and Asian cuisines.

The boardwalk is also a popular destination for shopping and entertainment. Playground Shops, a shopping center partially constructed on a pier, has dozens of popular retail stores and restaurants. Visitors can even stop at music venues to hear local and regional bands while they enjoy food and drinks.

Steel Pier is another attraction that makes the boardwalk so popular. The pier first opened in 1898 as a theater. It was later developed into an amusement park that opened in 1993. Today, it's one of the best spots in Atlantic City for people who enjoy carousels, Ferris wheels, and thrill rides. It also has food and drink options to keep visitors fueled while they have fun on the boardwalk.

Housing in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, New Jersey, has several neighborhoods that you may want to learn about before purchasing property. Some of the most popular Atlantic City neighborhoods include Chelsea, Ducktown (Atlantic City's Little Italy), Marina District, and Venice Park. Since many of these are historically urban areas, most of the homes for sale in Atlantic City are townhouses, condos, and apartments.

If you are looking for Atlantic City real estate options that include single-family homes, then it's best to search areas that were not as highly developed for tourism. This includes neighborhoods such as Venice Park and Chelsea. Although they are located near downtown Atlantic City, the sense of residential community is stronger in these neighborhoods.
