Jackie Thiel is president of Long & Foster Real Estate, overseeing the company’s 200+ offices and 9,000+ agents across eight states and the District of Columbia. She is responsible for the organization’s strategic business direction and operations, ensuring the firm delivers area consumers with the best service and expertise for all their real estate needs. Long & Foster Real Estate is part of The Long & Foster Companies, which also includes Prosperity Home Mortgage, Mid-States Title, Long & Foster Insurance, Insight Home Inspections, Tailored Move and HomeServices Property Management.

Appointed President of Long & Foster Real Estate in 2023, Jackie brings over three decades of industry expertise to her position. She has a demonstrated ability to balance strategic decisions and fiscal oversight to drive operational performance and company growth. During her tenure at Long & Foster, she has established a reputation as a positive, growth-minded professional who is dedicated to building a culture of mentoring and support at all levels. Jackie’s ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization enables her to drive continuous improvement and growth through new and ongoing initiatives.

Prior to her appointment as President, Jackie served as executive vice president of general brokerage operations for Long & Foster Real Estate. In that position, she focused on sales and business growth, recruitment strategies, agent development and strategic mergers and acquisitions.

Jackie previously held the position of vice president and regional manager for Long & Foster Real Estate’s Southwest Virginia, Richmond and Hampton Roads region from 2010 to 2014. Additional leadership positions Jackie has held in her time at Long & Foster include vice president of regional development, vice president of career development and assistant vice president, executive administration. Jackie began her career in real estate with Bowers, Nelms & Fonville in Richmond, Va., which was purchased by Long & Foster in 1998.

She received her Bachelor of Science in education from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, and studied education psychology at the graduate level at the University of Oregon.
