Finding a Home, Easier Said than Done
Between the Washington, D.C., region’s low inventory of homes for sale, a tight timeline because of a job relocation and a specific set of needs for their family, finding a home was easier said than done for Connie and Bob. Their desired neighborhood in Bethesda, Maryland, was highly sought after and homes listed for sale would go under contract quickly, often after a multiple offer situation. The homes that remained on the market and were in Connie and Bob’s budget didn’t fit the requirements of the family, which includes the couple’s three children and one of their parents.
Connie and Bob’s situation was complicated – they had already sold their home in another state and needed to be in the D.C. region by a certain date. Peggy Lyn Speicher, who leads The Speicher Group of Long & Foster Real Estate with her husband Chris, said they had seen everything available in Bethesda but kept hitting dead ends. Peggy Lyn decided to turn to her fellow Long & Foster agents and began reaching out to them to proactively look for a home for her clients.
There’s no question that if it weren’t for the relationships I have with my fellow agents at Long & Foster, my clients likely wouldn’t have been able to purchase a home they love so much,Peggy Lyn Speicher said.
Our Customized Approach:
Peggy Lyn connected with her expansive network of Long & Foster agents, letting them know what Connie and Bob were looking for in the hopes that her fellow agents had upcoming listings that might match her clients’ needs. Another Long & Foster agent who was working with a client to prepare their home for sale in Bethesda saw Peggy Lyn’s request and that agent’s client agreed to allow the property to be viewed early. Connie and Bob loved the home and immediately made a full price offer on the property, which allowed them to avoid the stress of a competitive offer situation.
Connie and Bob were thrilled to purchase a home they love in their desired Bethesda neighborhood. Not only that, but the property fit the needs of their family and their budget while meeting their short timeframe. Additionally, the transaction was ideal for the property’s listing agent and the home seller. The seller was guaranteed the price they wanted as well as a quick transaction without the stress of having to put their property on the market.
