How to Get Your Delaware Real Estate License in 5 Steps
1. Do your research on the Delaware real estate market.
Make sure you’re ready for the rewards and risks of running your own real estate business. Consider attending a career seminar at your local Long & Foster office. Or using the form below, schedule a private, confidential appointment with one of our recruiting associates, who can answer all of your questions.
2. Complete 99 hours of official pre-licensing classes.
Delaware requires 99 hours of education, which you can take in a classroom or online. Contact the Long & Foster Institute of Real Estate to learn more.
3. Pass the Delaware state real estate exam.
A minimum score of 80 percent on the final exam is required in Delaware, and there is no limit on the number of retakes.
4. Choose a broker to sponsor you.
To sell real estate in Delaware, a licensed broker must agree to be your broker of record. This person completes the real estate employment section on your license application.
5. Apply for a Delaware real estate license.
The Delaware Division of Professional Regulation is the licensing authority for the state. Submit a completed and notarized application. Download and complete the application from Delaware’s website. If your application is approved, you are officially a Delaware real estate agent, and a license will be issued to you.
6. Join Long & Foster and get reimbursed for your real estate school tuition.
Long & Foster offers tuition reimbursement for all new real estate sales associates who join Long & Foster. No matter the real estate school you attend, you will be reimbursed for your real estate school tuition and book costs upon your first closing.
