State Street is the heart of the borough’s shopping and dining activity.Taste Kennett Food Tours offers a three-hour culinary walking tour of downtown, during which visitors can visit six local eateries and two winery tasting rooms. You can also explore on your own and eventually end up at the Mushroom Cap, a shop dedicated all things fungus. Nearby Longwood Gardens is a popular cultural attraction, nature preserve, and horticulture school encompassing more than 1,077 acres of woodlands and meadows.
