Considered one of the best courses in the country, this course has served several times as a host to the U.S. Open. For nature lovers, a trip to Merion Botanical Park is a must. Visitors can learn about the different species of plant life via QR codes located on the specimens. The Barnes Arboretum is another favorite place to relax and enjoy the area’s natural beauty. Containing over 2,500 varieties of trees and plants, residents love strolling through arboretum and soaking in the peaceful setting.

In addition to the arboretum, the Barnes Foundation also houses a world-class art museum. Founded in 1922, the museum features collections from some of the best post-impressionist and early modern artists, including Renoir, Matisse, and Picasso; antiquities, including Native American ceramics and African sculptures, can also be found here. Merion Station itself is also home to historical treasures. One such attraction is a home on Merion Road that was recently discovered to have been the home of the von Trapp family of “The Sound of Music” fame.

Commuting to Philadelphia is a breeze, with SEPTA often being the fastest mode of transportation. Commuters who choose to drive can make it into the city via either surface streets or I-76E. Similarly, Philadelphia International Airport is less than 10 miles away via Cobbs Creek Parkway.
