Nick D’Ambrosia joined The Long & Foster Companies in 2009 and currently serves as the company’s Principal Broker/Broker of Record. While with Long & Foster he has also served as Senior Vice President, Training and Career Development. He has been committed to the real estate industry since establishing his career in 1973 and has served in many diverse positions. Some of his current roles include serving as the National Association of Realtors’ Liaison for Large Broker Relations, serving as an executive team member of NAR as well as serving as the governor-appointed chairman of the Maryland Real Estate Commission.

Prior to joining Long & Foster, D’Ambrosia worked in a multitude of leadership roles. Some of them include serving as president and broker for GMAC Real Estate/Real Estate Service Center, as vice president of operations and vice president of property management for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Mid-Atlantic, as senior vice president for Coldwell Banker Stevens Realtors, and as senior vice president and general manager for Coldwell Banker Nyman Realty. He was also a founding member and chairman of the Metropolitan Information Systems, Inc., the largest multiple listing service in North America.

D’Ambrosia has been closely involved with NAR throughout his career, including as a member of the NAR Enlarged Leadership Team, the NAR Executive Committee, the NAR Board of Directors and numerous additional committees, task forces and presidential advisory groups. Additionally, he served as president of the Maryland Association of Realtors, the Prince George’s County Association of Realtors, the Prince George’s County Federation of Associations, and as director of the Southern Maryland Association of Realtors.

The former dean of the Maryland Realtors Institute, D’Ambrosia holds the advanced real estate designations of Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager, Certified Real Estate Specialist and Graduate of the Realtors Institute. He was twice named Realtor of the Year by the Prince George’s County Association of Realtors, and also received their Educator of the Year Award and their Code of Ethics Award. He was the 1988 Realtor of the Year for the Maryland Association of Realtors and was awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. He is a member of the NAR President’s Circle, the RPAC Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Omega Tau Rho Award.
