Question: How many Virginians does it take to change a light bulb?
Answer: 3 of course, any true Virginian can change a light bulb independently but you will need at least 2 others to discuss how great and significant the old one was!
I was lucky enough to escape to Virginia in 1976, after living in Philadelphia for 5 years, while attending Temple University. I hold agree in Psychiatric Social Work, which has helped and continues to help me in my Real Estate career. I grew up in Massachusetts with rolling hills, forest and four distinct seasons; Albemarle County felt very familiar, minus the terrible, long, dreary, freezing winters. I remember driving down Skyline Drive and looking at the mountains and wondering, who are the lucky people that get to live in this amazing place. I still feel that way 43 years later, when I lookout my kitchen window and see the Blue Ridge Mountains.
In 1978, I bought a 104-acre apple orchard instead of the safe little cottage on a few acres that I had been looking for. I meet my husband at a fruit growers meeting and we moved to his family’s farm in Western Albemarle in 1979. I had my own apple cider business and worked at UVA and Western State Hospitals as a Social Worker. I started my Real Estate career when my daughter turned 2. I somehow thought you could be a part-time realtor!!Now, 30 years later, as a more than full-time realtor, I enjoy the challenge of keeping all the moving parts of a real estate transaction progressing as smoothly as possible. I have been fortunate to work with clients from all over the globe and am grateful to have made many lasting friendships with them.
