Northside Dog Park, 609 Forest Lawn Dr. | 7 a.m.-8 p.m. | A quieter spot for pups. Make sure to bring water, as there is none on tap. 

Barker Field at Byrd Park, 2481 Park Dr. | 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. | Richmond’s first official off-leash dog park opened in 1998 

Church Hill Dog Park, 3600 E. Grace St. | 6 a.m.-9 p.m. | Watch out for rocks which might be harsh on paws. The park is located on the eastern lower terrace of Chimborazo Park. 

Phideaux Field, 4401 Forest Hill Ave | 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 12-9 p.m. Sunday | Located at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, this laid-back park provides bowls of water and doggie bags.  

Ruff Canine Club, 1924 Ellen Rd. | 2-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 12-9 p.m. Saturday-Sunday | This private dog park + social club is stacked with amenities for pups and people.

Short Pump Dog Park, 3329 Pump Rd. | 7 a.m.-7 p.m. | This Henrico park has separate areas for small + large dogs, synthetic grass specifically designed for dog parks, and a play area with sprinklers 

Ruff House Dog Park, 3401 Courthouse Rd. | 7:30 a.m.-dusk | This Chesterfield spot has convenient parking and two fenced areas inside Rockwood Park. 

Chester Dog Park, 5300 Ecoff Ave. | 7 a.m.-dusk | Follow the walking path in Goyne Park to find a dog runand spacious fenced areas.
