People watching, dog walking, jogging and cycling are all great ways to pass the time and enjoy the fresh air. A popular spot with locals is the city-funded Marie Reed Recreation Center. This community hub features a 25-yard-long solar-heated swimming pool free for D.C. residents, tennis and basketball courts, athletic fields, outdoor chess tables, as well as daycare and health services. 

From May to December, locals gather at the renowned Adams Morgan farmer's market to pick up fresh produce and organic goods. The annual Adams Morgan Day held the second Sunday of September is a big draw, thanks to live music, local artists and international food. In October, neighborhood front porches become mini music venues during Adams Morgan PorchFest. Inspired by a national movement of similar events, it's designed to draw neighborhood residents closer through music.

Public transportation is plentiful, with two nearby metro stops and several buses running through the Adams Morgan neighborhood. While most Adams Morgan residents are young professionals, you'll also find plenty of families living in the area.
