Kim Gundy and her husband, Jay, are skilled house-hunters and trusted neighborhood experts for people buying and selling homes, or beginning to explore Sussex County and Delaware's coastal communities. The Gundys have owned homes in Sea Colony, Bethany Beach for more than three decades, first buying a seasonal, second home in 1987.

Kim and Jay understand the dynamics of home ownership in a vibrant resort and residential community that embraces second-home owners, investors, vacation renters, and a growing year-round population including retirees. From condominiums to single-family houses to new home construction, they witnessed first-hand the evolution of real estate options and opportunities in the beach communities and across Sussex County.

Kim launched her estate career in 2016 joining the Long & Foster—Bethany Beach Real Estate firm. She has sold homes and building lots in Lewes, Rehoboth, Millsboro, Dagsboro and Bethany Beach. Her out-of-state clients exploring Sussex County and the coastal communities value Kim’s knowledge of the region, targeted client-focused research, and meticulous market monitoring.

Kim grew up in Fairfax County, Virginia where her mother was a Long & Foster sales agent for 24 years. After graduating fromThe University of Virginia, Kim began her career as a merchandise manager for theJC Penney Company in Ithaca, NYand later as a manager atTalbots in Basking Ridge, NJ.She spent 14 years as a boarding school administrator specializing in standardized testing and college admissions atThe Hill School (PA),residential life atWestern Reserve Academy (OH), and admissions atVermont Academy.

Jay's professional interest in real estate began in 2015 serving on the staff of the nonprofit affordable homebuilderSussex County Habitat for Humanity. Over five years, he built associations with local and county officials, real estate developers and sales professionals, contractors, sub-contractors, skilled tradesmen, banks and community organizations giving Jay an in-depth, county-wide perspective on homeownership in Southern Delaware. In 2020, he joined the Long & Foster—Bethany Beach Real Estate Firm.

Born in McKeesport, PA, Jay attendedPenn StateandWittenberg University (OH). After earning a master's degree fromThe University of Virginia, he built a forty-year career in educational administration with administrative and teaching assignments atThe University of Virginia, Cornell University (NY), Newark Academy (NJ), The Hill School (PA),Western Reserve Academy (OH), and Vermont Academy. Jay is a veteran of theUnited States Coast Guard and Reserves.
