Athena Petersen

Senior Vice President, Regional Manager

Athena Petersen serves as senior vice president and regional manager for Long & Foster Real Estate’s Baltimore, Eastern Shore and Western Maryland region. Petersen has been part of Long & Foster for over two decades, and she assumed her current position in 2024.

During her real estate career, Petersen has achieved tremendous results, both as an individual sales associate and as a real estate managing broker. She most recently led Long & Foster’s top-ranking Reston and Fairfax Centre locations in Northern Virginia. There, she oversaw the offices’ strategic recruitment and retention, managed their daily operations and supported over 150 agents.

Throughout her tenure at Long & Foster, Petersen has developed many effective programs, including a mentoring initiative and comprehensive training on the brokerage’s tools and resources, including its all-inclusive real estate experience. Petersen is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in information systems. She is licensed in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
