The Wedding Chapel of Amelia, formerly Mount Herman Presbyterian, was founded on September 3rd, 1882. Samantha Jane Neil traveled to Amelia county to locate her husband Hugh Neil's body to return him to his home place. He was killed while fighting during the Civil War.
