14.88 acres - now surrounded by CONSERVATION Easements (see updated photo) - complete seclusion with no chance of development on bordering property! PRIVACY â HISTORY â BEAUTYâ¦and a special story: Welcome to Guinea Bridge Farm, an award-winning historical property dating back to 1745 on one of the most unique properties in Loudoun County. The residence was expanded to twice its original size through a seamless addition in the 1850s. This Quaker-built dwelling is peacefully nestled on nearly 15 acres of rolling pastures and wooded land surrounded by over 400 acres of agricultural zoned land. The property resides in the Goose Creek Historical District, an area renowned for its early county structures and settlements. Situated at the end of a tranquil road, the property provides a profound sense of peace and seclusion, while being conveniently connected to paved roads and just 3.5 miles from downtown Purcellville. Together, Nancy E. Patty and her husband James purchased this home over 42 years ago to begin a meticulous and loving journey of restoration, and preservation of what would become their âjewelâ in the country. From sipping wine on their boat in their spring-fed pond, to hiking through the 8 acres of forest, Nancy and Jim created memories alongside countless hours, months and years of learning and dedication to restore and preserve this special piece of history. They became avid members of âThe Old House Groupâ to learn from other owners and craftsman who specialized in restoration. Their major renovations continued for over 10 years and included a complete repointing of the home, re-plastering walls, restoring the 2-foot-thick stone walls with new mortar, and replacing all plumbing and electric. The kitchen was completely refurbished down to the ground with new footers being poured, and a new floor installed with rare, salvaged Chestnut tongue and groove wood. The four fireplaces were refurbished and continue to generate warmth and ambiance on cold winter days, like they did a century before. From hardware choices to doors, windows, custom built ins, and every stone utilized in constructing the retaining wall, each decision was made with careful consideration and a commitment to maintaining historical authenticity. In 1993, their efforts reached a significant milestone when they were honored with the Preservation Society of Loudoun County Award for "Preservation through Restoration and Reconstruction," as depicted in the attached image. In more recent years, the expansive front porch was added with mahogany flooring. The septic distribution boxes were updated in 2007 along with a new well pump and holding tank. The hot water heater was replaced in 2018 and a new washer and dryer purchased in 2023. The Weil McLain Boiler produces oil fired hot water to the base boards and is well maintained with annual service checks. The basement's foundation mirrors the exposed stone construction of the entire house and features a poured concrete floor, with a walk-up exit leading outside. A separate two-story office or studio dependency is just a few steps away from the patio area, and within a short stroll, you'll find the four-stall barn with a tack room and a detached 36' x 14' machine or run-in shed. Underground electric runs to the dependency and both barns with 3 outdoor hydrants on the property (one at the horse barn) that do not freeze in the winter. 2023 Updates include: Main house roof and front porch painted, entire cottage (dependency) painted including roof, horse barn and roof painted, run-in shed painted. COMCAST high speed internet installed. HUNTLAND, ca. 1834, is one of the most remarkable Hunt Country Estates. Dr. Betsee Parkerâs keen interest in historic preservation as well as her love of the countryside surrounding Middleburg prompted her to take on the biggest preservation project of her life: restoring Huntland to its 1915 grandeur. In 2007, when Dr. Parker purchased Huntland, it was in serious disrepair and uninhabitable. After Dr. Parkerâs extensive and meticulous research and after years of work using old world craftsmanship, Huntland is once again the exquisite estate as in the early 1900âs, when owned by Joseph Thomas. Sited on 129 beautifully landscaped and fenced acres of verdant pastures and fields, Huntland is also a working farm. Located in the Piedmont Hunt Territory, Huntland has hosted many hunt meets, hunt breakfasts, hunt balls, charity events, and dignitaries including several Presidents. Wanting to protect this estate for future generations, Dr. Parker placed Huntland into a perpetual conservation and open-space easement with The Virginia Outdoors Foundation. Huntland is also registered as a Virginia Historic Landmark and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. Originally named New Lisbon, the 2-story center section of the home dates to 1834 and was built and owned by William Benton. In the early 1800âs Benton was in the employ of President James Monroe who hired him to be the overseer of his Aldie farm of Oak Hill. After observing Bentonâs work ethic and attention to detail he also put him in charge of overseeing the building of the manor house of Oak Hill. Benton went on to become a prominent builder in the Middleburg area, and his descendants remained at New Lisbon until 1895. Joe Thomas, after purchasing this estate in 1912, commissioned Peabody, Wilson & Brown, a prestigious New York Architectural Firm to transform this estate into a world class hunt estate. Prior to addressing the manor house, they were commissioned to design Kennels and Stables to rival the very best in the world. The stables and kennels are magnificent U-shaped buildings with a central square courtyard, built with emphasis for what is best for the hounds, the horses, and the huntsman. It was Joe Thomas who named this estate Huntland, which is not just a name, it is the very essence of this estate. In Marc Leepsonâs book, Huntland, he quoted Norman Fine in Foxhunting Life, âThomas was a founding member of the American Foxhound Club, Master of the Piedmont Fox Hounds, and author of Hounds and Hunting Through the Ages, the first comprehensive book on hunting with hounds ever written by an American. Thomas became the largest breeder of foxhounds for mounted packs in North America and helped to define the American foxhound breed.â Peabody, Wilson & Brown also designed the renovation and expansion of the original Federal Style home to todayâs stately brick Colonial Revival-style mansion. Tremendous amount of attention was given to all details. A south and north wing were added to the 2-story center section, each opening out to a covered porch. The south wing is an impressive primary suite with sitting room, and the north wing is the grand dining room/ballroom. In addition to the manor house, kennels and horse stables, elaborate walls, gates and bridges were added, as well as English gardens, and cottages. The iconic estate of Huntland has a rich history and with considerable thanks to Dr. Parker, it will enjoy a rich future. Located in Loudoun County in the exquisite countryside of the Virginia Piedmont, itâs sited at the intersection of Foxcroft Road and Pot House Road. Huntland is approximately 4.5 miles north of Middleburg, within minutes of the prestigious girls school of Foxcroft, and convenient to Dulles International Airport and Washington, D.C. .

Price improvement Below recent appraisal! Nestled on a captivating 7+acre property, Chestnut Ridge offers unparalleled views of the mountains and valley. The oldest section of this remarkable home was crafted around 1850, and in 1984, a two-story log addition was seamlessly integrated, utilizing logs salvaged from a centuries-old barn in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Another addition included a family/sun room and breakfast room that affords panoramic vistas of the historic Shelburne Glebe area. The front entrance of the 1850 stone house is a stunning feature that showcases yellow pine floors with an intricate hand-painted faux marble design along with built-in cabinets. Continuing from the front entrance, there is the living room, which forms an integral part of the original home. This cozy space is characterized by its painted exposed beaded beam ceilings, pine flooring, and a fully functional wood burning stone fireplace. Additionally, there is a small foyer adjoining the living room, accessible from the side entrance, and an updated half-bath for added convenience. With its exposed log walls, beaded beams, ceilings, pine floors, the formal dining and music room exudes a captivating charm. In close proximity to this room, there is a delightful office and reading nook, offering a picturesque view of the extensively landscaped front yard. Taking advantage of the stunning views, the sun room/family room is designed with two glass sides and French doors. Its walls and ceiling are finished with tongue and groove panels, a skylight and a freestanding Yodel porcelain wood stove. One of the highlights of the eat-in kitchen is the breakfast room, which has a wall of windows overlooking the stunning views. The room also includes built-in cabinets with a Corian top and tulip glass wall sconces. Updates to the kitchen include a porcelain double sink, glass cabinets, stainless steel appliances, Corian counter tops, a breakfast bar, exposed beams, pine floors, and two walk-in pantries. Accessing the second floor is possible through two sets of stairs. A private staircase connected to the formal dining room offers entry to the large primary bedroom, which showcases log walls, pine flooring, and a vaulted ceiling. Stained glass windows adorn this bedroom, with convenient access to an upper balcony and a recently updated bathroom featuring a claw foot tub. The original home's staircase leads to an upper landing, which serves as a pathway to two additional bedrooms with pine floors. The second bedroom includes a fireplace, while the full bathroom showcases a charming hand-painted tile mural dating back to 1984. The lower level of the house is finished and features a recreational room/exercise area. The walls are adorned with custom beaded wood paneling and exposed hand hewn log beam ceilings and original stone foundation, giving it a unique and rustic feel. Access to the backyard can be gained through either the recreational room or an extra storage workroom. The laundry area is conveniently located next to the recreational room/exercise area and even has a laundry chute that leads up to the primary bathroom. The over sized 2-car carriage house has an additional workroom/office and a two room - one bath guest quarters. There is also a detached one car garage/workshop/garden building.
